Solved Windows 7 - Boot\bcd error

Hi im new to this but im currently seeking for help how to fix this error. Ive been trying to fix this thing for 2 nights still no luck. Ive reformat my computer twice already but the error keeps coming back.
Ive tried the start up recovery, fixboot, rebuild bcd, fixmbr.
I know theres lot of thread regarding to this issue but ive gone through them and nothing fixes it and it keeps coming back when i reformat it.


It started 2 nights ago when i found a sata cord in my cd that isnt connected to the motherboard so i connected it to the available sata3. I thought that causes the problem as the error says 'if you recently added a hardware recently ... ' but it wasnt the case as i can still boot the systems using boot menu (i manually chooses which hd to use and it boots) and by putting the windows 7 dvd (didnt press any key to boot from cd).


Im guessing the cause of problem is when i tried to update my windows 7 and it wasnt properly shutdown/restarted due to blue screens/errors. Gigabyte has this on/off charge that causes bluescreen to appear when turning off, i turned it off after the first reformat but then when i tried to reformat again another bluescreen appeared before i was going to complete the updates for windows (restarting part).


Do you guys have any idea on how to fix this error? I dont want to keep on using the windows 7 dvd everytime i boot up my computer.

Boot into BIOS setup and set Win7 HD first to boot.

Post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Mgmt drive map with listings showing all columns, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu. Tell us what is on each partition.

What was the SATA cable connected to which you plugged in causing this problem? It appears to have interrupted the boot order, or worse.

i think its connected to hdmi or something to do with my front panel.

anyways i reformatted my system again. carefully updating/installing back my programs. Its working at the moment but i think it will again soon.

how do it change into win7 hd to boot first? I meant im using gigabyte z68a d3 b3 with latest bios (award modular bios v6.00pg). Ive been trying to do that since night 1 when the problem occured but the only option there was to set harddisk as first boot, it doesnt really specify which harddisk and such.

Ive attached the disk mgmt page from the computer management if thats what you asked for.

Disk 0 used to be the internal hard drive which i put my backup
Disk 1 is my ssd drive, boot and system files are stored there
Disk 2 used to be where my downloads and other program files are
CD-rom 0 bluray
CD-rom 1 dvd rw/r

Heres what I did to get it 'fixed' :
Looking at the arrangement of the drives, I thought that maybe the computer has tried to boot from the image on disk 0 (where my backup used to be).
Since I cant rearrange the disk arrangement(SSD is on SATA3-0 already while other HDD are on SATA2-etc), I just relocate my backup to another hd and put my downloads in there instead and reformat the whole system again.
The swapping is just my bet, plain reinstallation of windows 7 would fix it but problem persist after few updates/installations/restarts.
Hopefully the problem wont happen again. Ill post again if it does.

You're making it much too complicated, when all you have to do is enter BIOS setup to set the Win7 SSD first HD to boot.

You also didn't post back the requested screenshot which would reveal all, so we'll wait to see if you can follow simple steps given.

Hi guys
Founded out today that it was the ssd drive fault, bsod error and instability.
And NO, it wasnt that simple. Ive check the boot sequence and stuff in BIOS it was cdrom -> hd -> usb -> other bootable device.
the sequence hdd was already set to ssd -> hdd -> hdd but windows 7 disk management its showing hdd -> ssd -> hdd.

Watch out for Corsair Force 3!!!!. My wei went down to 7.3 from 7.5.
