Windows 7 Boot manager error

Hi all, I am new to this site, so I hope you will bear with me. I booted up my PC the other morning and got the error "windows failed to start" and some thing about a missing or corrupt system driver. I put in the OS disc to run a repair but keep getting as far as the same error...telling me to put in the disc and run a repair?
This will not get me to the repair options screen, just loads the files then repeats the same error...Please can anyone help...Thanks Pete
