I was always asking myself why microsoft hasn't included the option to press a key at boot menu and edit the boot parameters on-the-fly.

Well, maybe it was included in Vista and I didn't know...but I accidentally found that:

If you press the F10 key while booting Windows 7 (either at boot menu or before) you get the option to edit the boot parameters:

You can edit the boot line , similar to XP's boot.ini way :

e.g.

/NOEXECUTE=OPTIN

It's strange, cause it's not mentioned anywhere at the boot menu, that F10 key lets you edit the boot parameters!

I've heard of this, but it's still a nice find, Archon. I suspect that the reason why there is no mention of this is to prevent people who aren't computer savvy from making changes which can result in the system failing to boot.
