Apparently it is an old realtek PCIe network adapter that is failing, and Kaspersky (or Zone Alarm; both of them shares these things) is contributing to the issue. But there is not adequate info on the base of that we may determine our further actions.

We need some more info that is not contained there in the zip. Upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

To update the network driver, follow this post by Boozad: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-hel...shut-down-hangs-then-crashes.html#post2936344

Uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. At least as a test basis. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver, SynTPEnh.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know the result.

Sorry but personally im not sure which driver to download for the update. There are several options on Realteck as seen below. Would you be able to advise which to download for the update?

None of those seem to relate to your device. Can you provide us with the laptop make and model so we can check the manufacturer's website for an updated version please. Is it a Lenovo by any chance?

EDIT: I see you have a Clevo chassis, a P170EM to be exact, but looking at the Clevo website that model is not listed. Can you give us some more information on the system you have as so far you've provided very little with us to work with. Follow the 'Fill in your system specs' link in my signature then download and run Speccy (also linked in my sig) to help you fill in your specs.

Thanks for that. I'll have to do some digging as it doesn't look like Clevo support that model any more unfortunately. There may be an alternative on the Realtek website but I'll have to do some research on that as none of the downloads they offer match your device ID. Bear with us, we'll get that sorted out.

Can you try the 2012.14.0417.2014 version linked below please and report back whether the install went smoothly and if the device is working properly. Also, check the driver version via Device Manager post installation.

I'm not sure if my network issue is acting up but I'm unable to download the file using the link provided.

After checking the link, I get a 403 Forbidden error that "The server has refused to fulfill your request.". This error occurs when I use Chrome and IE.

Yupp I downloaded the second file from the top. Anyways I sourced for another download and managed to install the network adapter. Checked on Device Manager and it is updated.

As of now my laptop has not crashed yet but is there a way to test if the update was helpful to prevent further BSOD of the same nature?
