There seems to be a mixed reaction around here. Some have found 7057 slow while others (such as me) have found it the best build so far.

I guess it depends on how much time your willing to set aside for it. If your happy to "upgrade" then I recommend you at least try it out but as a clean install. A number of people have found when using upgrade install that it resulted in several problems.

Ive gotten all kinds of bugs with it that didnt seem to bother me with 7000... but on the other hand despite the bugs I find it very much improved otherwise.

For me it seems to be a half a dozen of one or six of another kind of thing...

It's been the advice since many years ago to always clean install, sure. I agree for the most part. Although, on my pc here is clean install, the one downstairs I did a 7048 to 7057 and there has not been a single glitch I've noticed yet because of it. A few years ago I did an upgrade install on something, I don't even remember what versions and it went terrible. I really like 7057 a lot (best so far) and I want to see what the newer builds are going to do.

I just reverted back to 7048 on my desktop machine. 7057 would seem to slow down after running about a day. It's networking is broke (won't see WinXP machines). It seems OK on my laptop and I don't need to see XP machines with my laptop. Also, multi wallpapered themes seems to be broken but I have that problem with 7048 as well. Looking forward to next build.

I too have found 7057 to be the best one yet. 7048 was good too but expires too soon. Like some have said before me....do a clean install. It has been fine.

I've done the clean install on 3 prior ver, no prob's. This time i got lazy and did the upgrade from 48 to 57, still no prob's. I also think if your comp already has some gliches they will definitly show back up on an upgrade. Clean = Clean:)

Not necessarily. My 7048 was able to "see" Windows XP machines on my network. I did an "upgrade" install to 7057 and lost this ability. I did a downgrade back to 7048 and I see my XP machines again. Looking forward to RC!
