My hard drive is partitioned to have a C (OS) drive and a D (My Documents) drive. Whenever I tried to create a VHD on the D drive for backups, I cannot mount it as it says it is corrupt.

I have an HP DV3-4050ea and had no problems with the installation that the computer came with, it is only since I have loaded on my own (legal) copy of Windows 7 Professional.

Any ideas?

You might run checkdisk.

Corrupt images are often the result of problems on the drive.

Seems to have done trick so many thanks. I hadn't done it myself as it was a fresh install with a full format so I don't know why it happened, but it did.
