Windows 7 cannot right click

Hi everyone, I am so frustrated with Windows 7. i cannot seem to right click at all in IE 8 that came with it. cannot save photos, "save target as" for music, nothing at all. Is there any fix for this? Thanks much!

Control panel.... mouse ..... uncheck button configuration.

If that does not work you probably need a new mouse. They are rather low cost items.

I think you should try another mouse (borrow one). You may need a new one if the replacement works.

Same thing on two different computers with Wiondows 7, different mice....

Hi, Welcome to SF,

Try to Open IE 8 without any add-ons
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

Or

Start > Run > iexplore.exe -extoff

Do you get NO popup memnu? Or are the items just greyed out?

Also, there was someone else on the forums that could not copy and paste and it turned out to be an overzealous piece of AV software

Go through Internet Options > Manage Add-ons, you can enable/disable each add-on to identify which, if any, add-on is creating problems.

If you want IE 8 to always start in the no-addon mode, you can also create desktop shortcut using iexplore.exe -extoff command line argument.

It would be good to know what broke in the first place - you can try enabling one by one to find out. I'd also do a full system scan with Malwarebytes.

I concur that enabling the add ons one at a time to find out which one broke it is a good idea. There are some add ons that you will need to enable, and those apps or websites that need them will tell you. It would be a shame that a needed add on might be the culprit, but I think you should find which one is the culprit. Sometimes your AV provides add ons that is supposed to provide protection while browsing, but sometimes they end up breaking your browser.
