windows 7 changed its own password

okay so i decided to change my windows password, i changed it, and then i logged ot to make sure it worked, but it didn't let me log back in, neither the original or the new password work, and i could not hve mistyped the new one twice when i changed it :S

what can i do?

Try turning it of then on again.

Log in as Administrator and fix it.

If you forget your password, you can try to reset it with tools on the Internet.

I think I am not allowed to tell which tool, but just google and find something that works for you.

I dont know what to do, and it appears if I did I would not be allowed to tell. But in any event, after you work this out, have 2 accounts, yours, which is a regular account and an administrative account. You could always get back in with the not used administrative account. Another benefit, and you still need anti virus etc, using the normal acccount makes it a bit more difficult to catch something.

In addition, make a password recovery disc, to avoid the problem in the future.

There is always the drastic action, reinstall. I know you do not want to hear this, with the reinstallation problems and all, but just keep in in mind.

i dont have acess to a burner
oh adn i tried reinstalling for some reason it didn't work, if i tried nistalling windows 7 it wouldn show, windows is loading files, finish doing that and the screen just froze very dark blue..
if i tried installing my old xp disc it would do the ancient blue menu, and then just freeze art setup is loading windows... i left both for a good few hours... nothing changed..
any suggestions?

umm well....
you need to boot into command prompt and activate your administrator account

hit F8 as the computer is booting up and go into safe mode with DOS prompt command prompt.

when command prompt comes up.. type:

net user administrator /active:yes

should say sucessful...then reboot, she have admin in the welcome screen, go into your admin account and reset your password
