I'm trying to install Windows 7 and keep getting the error message "0x80070057, Windows Setup could not configure boot manager." I'm using an OEM disk. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Do you have your pc hooked up to your internet connection. This sounds like a driver error. Also could be memory related. you could try to remove some ram and try again. Good luck to you.

Do a clean install,
Unattach everything from the computer other than mouse, keyboard and monitor
Go to microsoft site and download microsoft upgrade advisor and use it to see potential problems
Give your key, after the install is completed and you tried it for a while
Make sure that if you have 64 bit, the DVD is 64 bit etc
Remove ram memory if you have excess.
Go to device manager make sure all drivers are up to date

Actually solved the issue. Apparently Intel doesn't officially support the ICH5R RAID controller under Windows 7. However, it does work with the latest version of Intel Matrix Storage Manager for the ICH5R RAID controller, which is the 875P chipset. I had to run the installer 3 times, but it worked

Cool glad you got it going. I saw raid in your specs and suspected that could be the bottleneck. Thanks for posting your resolution for us. Hope that you enjoy your install and your time here on SF.
