Hi I own a "Advent Modena M100 Red" laptop. I take it to work and I am trying to connect it to a wireless Router - Make and Moden - Link SYS WAP4400N. However it will not connect.

We are all scratching our heads, and it has given me a day of misery!

There are 3 other users, using Windows XP, and they can connect without any problems.

In addition, I have taken my laptop out of the office, walked into a starbucks and I can connect to their wireless Router with no problems.

Any Ideas ?

I have been using other routers, I am wondering if this has something to do with it ?
Any help is very much appreciated!

You need to check basic parameters. Is the laptop set to obtain ip automatically from the router? If yes, then is DHCP enabled on the router? If you're using static private ip's on the comp, are they in the router's valid range? Is the gateway defined right? Can you connect to the internet via a wired connection to the router? Is the wireless key entered right?

Hi, Sorry im not that technical, but I can answer - The laptop will connect to the internet socket via an ethernet cable and work, it just wont pair with the router.
