Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me out...

I have just upgraded from XP Pro SP3 to Windows 7 Ultimate.
I cannot get '7' to recognize my wireless network card that was working previously with XP Pro.
I have re-installed the card on the board and also removed/replaced the driver (from disc).
The driver software installs and runs but tells me that the card is 'Unplugged'.

If I remove/reinstall the card, it finds new hardware and goes through all kinds of questions but the software still tells me the card is 'Unplugged'.
Is there something different I should be doing or is the card not compatible?

If I go to the internet connections available, it only shows the PPOE, no wireless is shown.

We might be able to help if you told us about your wifi card, router, etc

I apologize...

I have a Zio 54Mbps Wireless PCI network adapter. The router that I have is a Linksys, not sure of the model. (the blue one)

I know it is not one of the better cards out there, but it has been working fine with XP Pro.

I did not notice if it was recognized in device manager.

This is it here:

The Wireless Cardbus Adapter connects you with 802.11g networks at up to an incredible 54Mbps!
And for added versatilty, it can also interoperate with all the up to 11Mbps 802.11b products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotsports around the country. And in either mode, your wireless communications are protected by industrial-strength WPA, so your data stays secure.

It would help if you posted your system specs in your profile, so we know what hardware you have in your computer.

Hi guys.. this is what i did:

It seems that the adapter that I was trying to use was not compatible with Windows 7, in fact, there were reports of it not being compatible with Vista either. A local 'techie' suggested that I purchase an adapter that was at least comapatable with Vista.
I purchased a Netgear card for $20. Took a bit of tweaking with Windows 7 to get it going but it did work. The trick is to get it working at a Vista level and it will work.

That is a very good feature that MS has put in there to allow for older software to function. Let hope that others will work also.:)
