Windows 7 Crash

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit last month. It was running smoothly when suddenly last night i checked my anti virus (Avast free version) and had an error message at the command center that the service has stopped. I tried to manipulate the Avast application but the service could not really start. It generated an error which i fogot to do a screenshot capture. It was saying it had an I/O error then proceeded to a BSOD.

I uninstalled AVAST and downloaded and installed the updated version (This is weird since AVAST has the updating current version feature which wont also work so i decided a manual uninstall, install method). The service started, updated the virus definitions and all was working. While i was doing the mentioned things above, utorrent by default starts whe Windows is booted. I noticed that one of my downloads generated an error "download error: I/O blah blah blah". on the application itself. I felt the sluggish feel while scanning through the utorrent and antivirus application. I made a restart. It booted came up to the log in screen. A message boxed appeared and said "Windows fatal error, please save all your data and system will restart" the only button present at the message box was "OK". When i booted it stared up very slow and generated this error

Windows failed to start. A Recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your langugae settings, and then click next
3. Click "repair your computer."

Status: 0xc000000e
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

I then inserted the Win7 installation disk to go to the WINDOWS RE and tried to fix the problem by selecting the start up repair. I tried it like 5x and the messege would go something like "Windows could not repair blah blah blah", I also tried to boot to safe mode and would still prompt the error message above in red.

Now, when i try to boot it either displays the error message above in red or it displays the "starting windows" with the WIN7 logo then just a blank screen with a cursor then it restarts.

I know i have a very small chance to save my installation, i just want to know what are the causes of this? Is this a virus? is it hardware compatibility? BIOS settings? faulty SATA cable? Faulty PSU? Faulty Memory? Faulty HD?

To begin with here are my BIOS settings.

- ACHI enabled
- All set to SATA no IDE

Here are my spects

- Athlon II X4 240
- EMAXX AMD-785G-FXN
- 2X Team Elite 2GB DDR 2 800
- 1TB WD Caviar Green 64MB Cache
- Palit GTS 250 1GB DDR3 256 Bit PCIE
- Samsung DVD-RW

We we really need the DMP files if we are to help you further. Can you boot into safe mode to get them? Use these to find and upload them to us. http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/34900-1-novice-how-ask-help-bsod-problem.html

Also need to know if you have a working win 7 dvd, a backup and a restore point

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the fast response. I have a working Win 7 DVD. You mean backup image of windows 7? If that is what you are pertaining i have non. I used a 3rd party cloning tool rather than the built in one. Problem is it is not updated of the programs i want to revive (Hassle revoking licenses for the games i installed). And for the restore point i think i have non. I tired doing a restore using the restore point and windows generated a message somewhat "you have no restore point blah blah". Will try to access safemode if i can still could (Really cant boot it anymore) and upload the DMP file. If not, what are my options? Thanks again

Update:

I could not access the windows 7 installation even on safemode. I could not copy the DMP file already. Here is a set of stuff i have researched and done.

- Replaced SATA Cable
- Run Memtest86 - No errors found
- Not running AHCI and SATA and ID combined enabled
- Entered the following commands

1. Insert the Windows 2008 R2 DVD and reboot.
2. Press a key when you see "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..."
3. Select Next > Repair your computer
4. Select Next > Command Prompt

Type:
bcdedit to see if the values for Windows Boot Manager > Device and Windows Boot Loader > Device and osdevice are set to unknown

If they are set to unknown, run these three commands to correct the settings, and reboot:
bcdedit /set {default} device partition=c:
bcdedit /set {default} osdevice partition=c:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} device partition=c:

All of these stuff didn't work. I installed my old HD (WD 250GB SATA 16MB Cache) with my previous installation of windows 7 and it worked flawlessly. I'll run diagnostic tests on the HD tomorrow to see if the WD 1TB Green is the culprit.

Wild guess on this tedious problem, i caught a really tough virus
