Having been away, the computer updated a number of files, then crashed. Having gone back to a restore point, it immediately started to update again-- and crash- blue screen, but no error messages.
Works OK under safe mode (like now)

In safe mode:

change WU settings

Windows Update

Change Settings

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download & install them.

Install one update at a time until you determine the update causing problem.

Here is the file, I couldn't find it before because of my cluttered desktop.
It isn't zipped!?!
OK now after a few " invalid file" messages.
Sorry about the delay, but I'm also having problems with W10 on my other machine!
