Hello all,

I'm using 7100 from ms not a torrent and having an issue i just cant seem to shake, re formatted and im still having this issue.

The issue is the pc runs great then when im done on it and go downstairs for 1 hour or more and i come back to it shake the mouse, the screen comes on the mouse move but nothing is responsive, the autohide start bar doesnt come out, crtl+alt_del does't work, the only way i can use the pc again is to hold the power button 10 seconds and turn it on again, i never have any problems with it while im using it, gaming or when its streaming media to my laptop or ps3.

While it's in this unresponsive state it still continues to stream media to both devices.
Its not over heating or being stressed to hard

wwhen i leave my pc all that runs are:
steam
tversity and the windows media player sharing services, no screen saver my screen is set to turn off after 1 min on inactivity. tried numerous video card drivers.

anyone have any ideas?

I cant really help but i have the same MoBo and i have experienced this si the past.
Ive also had the problem where the screen would go off and wouldn't come back on but the PC was still working.
The only things i can can think of is the power options as has already been mentioned (although i didnt find that helped), deleting the updated Ati driver i had downloaded so it reverted back to the default one and upgrading to one of the leaked builds.

Im pretty sure i had cured it by the time i did the driver roll back but ive also gone up two builds (upgraded, not clean installs) since i last saw this problem.

Its a known issue with the Auto-hide taskbar option. The only solution is to disable Auto-hide. It happens with the RTM too.

Kjar

See evo21 post he is absolutely correct. there is an interaction between autohide and sleep in every version of windows since the beta. If you want more info search sevenforums for a user named SoLoR, aand autohide.

Hope this helps

Also update your video and storage drivers.
Video drivers because there's been issues with them and sleep since XP
Storage drivers because this is a new issue in Win7 - the storage drivers affect the sleep options.
