Hello, Is there a way to set a default folder in Windows 7 when savings things? Any time I save images(I belong to several paint groups), it always opens in the temp folder and then I must toggle to the folder of my choice, many times deep, deep, deep within the Windows Explorer tree. Sometimes it takes so many toggles through the tree, I have forgotten what and where I am going with the save :-o Thank you for all your good help on this forum.

Have you tried making a new folder just for your saved images? Name it saved images and keep it on the desktop.

Create a Library called Images, and add your folder to that Library.

I place a folder called "A1temp" into documents - but you can use any name. Then I made an "Atemp" library with that folder. Because it starts with the letter "A", it is always first in the menu and easily accessible. Then I placed a shortcut of A1temp into my Rocket Dock so that I can get to it swiftly.

Create a Library called Images, and add your folder to that Library.

Thanks for all your answers. I made a new Library folder and directed(copied) my main paint folder there. When I save items now, it still opens up (by default) to the temp folder but just two toggles takes me to the newly made main sub-folder. It saves many toggles. I made both new Library and new main folder begin with an 'A' so they appear first.

Originally, I used 'My Pictures' Library but it seems everything collects there. All downloaded pictures from my camera; any scanned items(a single item scanned on my printer glass-top becomes it's own separate folder- OVERWHELMING) which was alot to compete with.

Question, since I rerouted and renamed the original paint folder by copying it over, should go to the original and delete that folder? The old original paint folder in My Pictures is about 30GB. This one will not grow anymore. The new folder with closer access will take my new items. Is this 30GB folder appearing twice on my hard drive? Thank You!

You can keep the old folder. No need to move that stuff around. Include it in your new library - then you have them all together in one place.
