Windows 7 deleted my stuff!

Ok so I was updating my drivers and software just before I left my house to go on vacation and 2 weeks later I come back to find my game saves and some games deleted my personalised desktop e.g. Wallpaper screensaver etc. was reset the default font had changed my pictures were deleted my computer can no longer create temporary files and will not download anything e.g. I go to download something press save as.......Nothing
Press save........nothing I even left it for about 39 mins to see if it would eventually respond and still nothing
My computer is custom it has windows 7 enterprise, 4GB of RAM an Nvidea GeForce 210 and a 500 GB
hard-Drive can anyone help at all Please it would be so helpful.

It just came with the computer I really never got around to changing it there was an issue though a while back I was just doing stuff on the computer when it said that I did not have a genuine copy of windows so I had to verify that it was a genuine copy so I followed the program(windows update)'s instructions to verify the software I even double checked the websites authenticity to make sure it was not some elaborate hoax and it said that it was a verified genuine copy of windows 7 but there was a message on the bottom right hand side of the screen that said otherwise until the next day when I switched the computer back on.
