Solved Windows 7 does not boot

Hi Friends,

I am running Windows Ultimate 32 bit on my laptop. For some weird reason, my laptop does not boot at all. When I power on the laptop, I get this Windows Error Recovery screen with only 2 options.

Launch Startup Repair
Start Windows normally

I did try Launch Startup Repair, but it never worked and showed a message saying "startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically".

I also tried all the other options namely System Restore, System Image Recovery but none of them worked.

Then I tried Start Windows normally, but that did not worked either.

I went into Advanced Boot Options by pressined the F8 key and tried all the following options there, but I could not get my laptop to boot.

Repair Your Computer
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
Enable Boot Logging.
Enable low-resolution video (640×480).
Last Known Good Configuration (advanced).
Directory Services Restore Mode
Debugging Mode.
Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.
Start Windows Normally.

What should I do now? How can I recover my data?

Hi,

There's a hardware causing this problem. Unless you do this (System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums) then our suggestions are only limted.

My laptop is not booting at all not even in Safe Mode, how can I follow the 1st step of the instructions ie "1. Click on either Download button below to download and save the SystemInfo.exe file to your desktop." Thanks.

Boot from your Win 7 installation disk, go to repair and launch a CMD window.
Type:
chkdsk c: /f

Pay attention on the results, specially on bad blocks or bad clusters.

Duh! Installation disks have not come with new computers in many years. The only way to get an install DVD is if a person buys the OS on a DVD and installs it himself (or herself).

Tech291083, you don't state in your info just where you are, so I'm hard pressed to offer to fix that for you.

But if you have important data on that drive, and the drive has not totally CRASHED, then almost any professional Computer Tech can recover that data for you and maybe even restore your OS. I'm a retired Professional Computer Tech myself and I know I could do it.

If your HD is removable, (some are not) then it can be removed from the Laptop, and slaved off of a Desktop PC, and the data on the drive can be accessed and copied to a Flash drive or burned to a DVD(s).
I've done that many times myself, for my customers.

OS Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit

If you want to install Windows 7 Ultimate you will also have to have a legal COA key to activate it.
Do you have such COA key and where did you get it?
