It is a big problem which is very annoying
Every time I turn on my pc which has Windows 7 Ultimate (6.1.7600 Build) I need to connect manually to my wireless network
WLAN AutoConfig is set to Automatic and it is already started as well as all its dependecies......I have an Asus EEE PC 1000H which by default had windows xp, but I don't think that the upgrade done something bad to my pc, cause when i upgraded my pc was OK, now lately it happens :(
Aaaa almost forgotten!! I choose "Automatically Connect" checkbox when I connect but nothing happens as well as when I put my pc to Sleep or Hibernate.... and everytime I need to manually connect and write my WPA2 password !!! Yes I Know that you 'd tell me "remove password" or "run in safe mode with networking" or "disable UAC" but i already done these and i'm the admin of the PC !!!! Is there a way to fix this? I already updated my Network's Driver through device manager many times.... but nothing :( :( :(
Can somebody help? I would really apreciate it!!!!

You say you've updated your drivers through device manager. The real way to update your drivers is to go to the website of the manufacturer of your device and download the latest drivers from there.

Go to this website: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
Type this into the model box in the top left: Eee PC 1000H/XP
Now hit search and choose your operating system (Win7)
Now scroll down to wireless and download those drivers.

OR

Download this .RAR package.

You'll need WinRAR to open it.

Well....... I finally fixed this...... just the C:\ProgramData\Wlanvsc added on right click/security tab a new item, the LOCAL SERVICE... then I allowed everything to Mimis(My user name), Administrator and the Local Service
And finally, I took ownership and it worked!!!! Thanks notsograymeter although it had nothing to do with drivers, you wanted to help me ! ;-)

Hi,

I think the path is actually:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Wlansvc :)
In neither mine or a customers Windows 7 x64 C:\programdata did we have a Wlanvsc file/folder directly, it was within the Microsoft folder.

Adding Local Service, the user name (Administrators group already had full rights) and then rebooting the laptop for good measure has not cured the problem for our customer unfortunately.

When coming out of sleep his laptop still needs to be told to connect to the wireless for it to work, otherwise it will automatically try for 45 minutes before failing.

We have changed drivers, replaced the wifi card and recreated the wireless profile in Windows. Dell now say to reinstall which we are loathed to do.

Thanks for your suggestion though.

It works

I also found the Wlansvc in Microsoft folder. But changing permissions did the trick for me. Thank you. :D

Here's another approach, which worked for me:

Go to the start menu
Run MSConfig
Go to the Startup tab
Look down the list and see if you can see anything which looks like it is a wireless controller. In my case it was:

No HKLM:Run IntelPROSet Intel(R) Corporation

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\WirelessCommon\iFrmewrk.exe" /tf Intel PROSet/Wireless

Uncheck the box which makes this a startup item.

Reboot, and the reconnect with your wireless.
Reboot again, and see if the wireless has automatically reconnected.

Hope this helps!
