Solved Windows 7 does not remember optical drive folder view settings

It keeps reverting back to details view and sort by name.

Nothing seems to affect the view settings on the optical drive. I switched from General to Music to Videos and the view settings stay the same.

Is this a bug with Windows 7?

You should be able to change your folder views and template to what you like, but the folder views and template for removable media are not remembered by Windows once the removable media has been removed, disconnected, or turned off. :(

Yeah, I just confirmed it on another machine with a fresh install.

This sucks and took me long enough to find out. XP did not have this problem. Thanks for the reply.
