Usually, when i'm re-installing a windows on different laptops, i'll just go to it's own website like for example, HP Laptop - I will search drivers at hp.com or Dell Laptop's drivers can be found in dell/compac website.

Just go to their Supports Section where you can find the Drivers & Downloads Page and download ONLY those are not installed by Windows automatically during installation.

Use the drivers given in the Win7 installer first, as they are either current or will be quickly updated in optional WIndows Updates.

This is not XP or Vista; MS spent a fortune building drivers with all manufacturers so they would be in the installer or available via Updates.

If any drivers are missing and not delivered via Updates then find those on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device.

Only use other chipset, etc. drivers if performance dictates it.

Try running a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html?ltr=R which sometimes will overcome the non-geniune error as it resets activation.

Are you booting the installer to attempt your reinstall? What is the exact error message prompting for drivers?

Thank you for your replies
@zigzag3143 > I have googled it it came up with the link theog gave
@theog > Thanks for the link, but i am not recieving any required drivers
@gregrocker > i get an error message when selecting drive saying :

When selecting drive, it says "Hard Disk cannot be found", then there is a button saying Load Driver, Then it Says :
"To install the device driver needed to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files, and then click OK.
Note: The installation media can be a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive."

Did you try the Repair Install? It is run from the desktop, not booted.

You need the SATA controller drivers (from the chipset) for the installer to see your HD, apparently.

I think i may have found my solution, but unsure untill i take a long 2 hour restart, but when i hit the Windows Key + R and ran diskmgmt.msc, the only drive it could find was E: (HD CD ROM). i deleted the Windows 7 partition and recreated it, well not yet, im using a different program for this, so i have to restart

I will give you a heads-up Tomorrrow

You can also check if your bios lets you change the SATA config from AHCI to IDE/ATA. If it does, change it, press F10 to save and exit, then try installing win7.

Also you should deep clean your HD to get the cleanest possible slate for reinstall, in case you were infected or have a hidden partition interfering with reinstall:

Boot Windows 7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD, open a Command Line, type:
DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK # (for Windows 7 disk)
clean all (applies zeros, deepest clean, takes about an hour per 320gb)
create partition primary
select partition 1
assign letter=c:
active
format
exit

Now try booted Custom install to partition you have just created, with all other HD's and USB devices unplugged.
