Thanks for this forum

I currently have Vista Home premium 32 bit OEM that came with my Gateway, and I also have a second hard drive D:160GB available.

I have ordered the Win 7 home premium upgrade and would like to know if it would be possible to install it on the D drive using the 64 bit version. I am guessing that both 32 and 64 are on the same DVD and will give me the option?

Thanks
Bill

Thanks for that. I did read it but was unclear if 32 bit could exist with 64 bit on the same system on different drives

Appreciate the reply

Does an upgrade *license* permit this?

I believe that an upgrade license is supposed to invalidate the qualifying OS.

Whether there's anything built-in that makes the activation server reject the key of the old OS, I don't know. (I"d guess not, though.)
