I don't know about you but having to switch to another OS when I switch machines would drive me insane (ok, more insane than I already am).

I think I was in sane once, can't remember how I got there

What I meant was ... when I get a new machine, it usually comes with a new OS (yeah 3-5 years between hardware upgrades). I still have Win98 -> Vista machines but I only use Win7 for work and play.

I keep the others around for nostagia and reference when my not-so-sane friends call me about Win98, XP, or Vista issues. You're absolutely correct... it's really hard to figure stuff out on the other OSes, but I poke around until I find what I need to help those less sane.

Don't feel bad, Bill. I'm not too sure I ever was sane.

I thought (my first mistake) you meant that you used different OSes on a regular basis. when I got my first Win 7 machine (my current notebook), I pretty much stopped using my XP desktop because switching back and forth was nerve wracking. I know there are people who can do so easily but I'm sure as snot in a nursery not one of them.

They have already gotten rid of most Window 7 machines in almost every store you shop at ,I don't understand how they can even say they don't want manufacturers to use it they have not been for some time now it's only windows 8 and if you want 7 you have to make a request and that is if they even have it in stock

I find the only way you can get 7 is to buy a OEM copy and put it on a machine i feel the person who made the statement really doesn't see where windows 7 is no longer on any new machine that you look at it has to be personally bought or forced the builder to use it for you instead of 8

In my mind they have already ended using 7 it's people like us keeping it alive
