Windows 7 Explorer Ingores Search Request for the Computer folder

My attempts to initiate a search (text in search box, top-right of Explorer window) is ignored by explorer if the 'Computer' folder is selected (Highlighted). Works fine if a drive is selected, but I use the computer folder to do a search of all drives. I suspect that this is a mal-set Registry value. Anyone have any thoughts?

Hello Randy,

Do you have an offline network drive or folder mounted by chance?

Brink,

To my knowledge I have no offline 'drives'. The closest thing I have is a Homegroup (with wife's laptop included). All local (5) physical/logical drives are online (C: - G:).

I always seem to find (stumble over) the relatively subtle anomalies!!

'Ppreciate your interest.
