Windows 7 Explorer Open Libraries Only

When I double-click or even right click--> open on any folder, it always shows below Libraries in new window. However, if I select a folder from Navigation Pane (left column) in Explorer it works properly

The problem started few days back .. not sure what caused it. Symantec EP updated .. also use SpyBot S&D updated .. no issue found. However, my restoration point are gone!! SFC cant repair ... safe mode boot did not help.

In fact same is happening when I try to open Control Panel, Control center or some system functions. Tried to replace explorer.exe from clean PC but does not help. Tried to click exe file from windows folder for control panel and etc but same result

Please help!

Try a complete scan with MBAM.

The missing Restore Points make me suspicious.

Done. No threats found. I think there is some issue with registry! But not sure how to fix it

When you tried to run sfc where any AV shields running?

Also just for grins try disabling all AV and see if anything changes(if you want you can do whatever it takes to make sure you're not connected to internet while running the test.)

You also might look in System Protection to see if something disabled restore points.

On the Registry perhaps someone knows if there's a setting that controls how the Explorer stuff should be located.

Or you could try this.

Select System Repair > Advanced Repair.
and then repair all the file association.

Sorry the log is too difficult to read...

You can start Smart Scan in the System Repair Engineer and then send the report as an attachment.
