Hi team,
Win7 N00b here, anyway finally upgraded from xp - clean install formated drive since then the fun started - had to upgrade from 7600 to 8800 for DX10 ect. Now its failed WGA i could try a system restore but i dont think its going to work - other then reformating (as per the advice) any other suggestions.

Ive already enabled internet time, and this is the error i get when i try change the product key in system.
Edit:
Build details would help¿:
Windows 7 build 7100 x64
7100.0.090421-1700_x64fre_client_en-us_retail_ultimate-grc1culxfrer_en_dvd.iso
The WGA is down to random lockouts and powering down. This is also disabling my NIC's (as in cable not connected error but cable is pulgged in, bios flash to fix) Blackwall paper and constant nags.

Hey Bet you are running win 7 build 7000. its a beta and its expiring. It will sop working on Aug 1, 2009. So I would suggest backing up your data and then upgrading to win 7 rev 7100 or higher.

Hope this helps and let me know if you need help

He runs 7100, so it must working. Do you received a key from MS? If you download the RC (7100) from the servers of MS, you will get a legit key, so you can activate your build.

Yes i used the key provided when i downloaded, ive tried to change the key via system but the above screenshot is the result.
Ive just got it working mostly (drivers ect) but every time it power's down as a result of WGA it kills my MB (i need to flash the BIOS everytime) and it kind of getting annoying.

I take it no ones has any ideas, id really like to avoid formatting (again) if i can. Im surprised its failed like this even with internet time syncing on its got no idea what date its suppose to expire.
Im not looking forward to removing it off all the clients machines ive installed it on, i cant have this sort of failure there. Back to Ubuntu for them.

Hi Footprint,

Copy and Paste slmgr.vbs -dlv into the start-menu searchbox then press enter, A minute or two later you will see a window titled "Windows Script Host", just upload a screenshot here for us to see your machine licensing status ;)

Also run slmgr.vbs -rearm to reset the activation by a month to restore your system to a functioning state ;)

Steven

Thanks Steven,
Ive tried slmgr.vbs -dlv, it failed to run, see attached screenshot.
Also done slmgr.vbs -rearm and restarted no change.
Ive also run the WGA checks over at http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/RunDiags.aspx?displaylang=en&cnt=2 - it failed there to, none of the "fixes" worked. There havnt been any mods or hacks on this install, its a fresh legit MS iso install so its odd its in such a state.

Yes them WGA checks will fail because its not designed for Windows 7 yet.

Did you install any AntiVirus software or re-configure any services?

slmgr is failing while collecting data from the KeyManagementService aka Software Protection Service, Unless you changed the configuration of the machine or installed some software that might possibly block any query's I dont yet know why your activation could be failing.

Steven

Sounds like a problem with vbscript. Try sfc /scannow and see if that finds any errors then try Steven's command again.

- fixed . formatted. I did run an ubuntu ultimate live CD for an hour or so before going back.
Not sure what caused it but it was dam annoying having the NICs die and so forth, you could plug and unplug them all day and they wouldnt come back. That was the worst part not only could i not resole it but i couldnt even find out why. At the least there should be a "WGA hack" for 7 until it does expire and change the challenge then - but meh.
