Solved windows 7 failure configuring STUCK

Hi, I desperately need help right now. my laptop has been stuck in failure configuring updates and i can't do anything to it.

i've tried opening in safe mode but it either becomes stuck while loading or it goes 'error' and restarts to 'failure configuring'. I've tried f11 and had the disks checked but there were no issues either and i've tried system restore too, but that was unsuccessful.

i cannot get onto the desktop at all and i've left it up to 4 hours but there was no response. i've done a hard start up; removed my battery and let it drain before trying to turn it on once more but nothing has worked.

can somebody please help me?

ADW download from bleepingcomputer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans

NB If anyone is runningKaspersky security it may rant about ADW - just ignore it or disable it for awhile
While I am still thinking of it you mentioned the desktop is not going am I to assume it is in some sort of failure as well as the laptop??

Hi ICIT2LOL, I can't boot at all, can't get onto the desktop, nothing. I already got malwarebytes on my laptop and ran a scan on the day that i last used my laptop and it was fine. What happened was that i delayed restarting to let it update because i was busy working.

Right now i'm using my desktop which is running perfectly.

Sorry I misunderstood what you meant by desktop I thought it was both machines are out of action.

ranger4 i've tried startup repair, system restore, system image recovery and memory diagnostic. nothing has worked unfortunately.

Hmm disregard that last posted tutorial was thinking of something else.

Now if system restore is not working then there is a problem but as matter of interest did you try setting restore pint way back or just a recent one?

Hopefully you have all your data backed up or at least imaged?

thanks you two for taking time to help, but i've followed what i can of the twelve steps, and nothing has worked apart from the command line bootsect/. I was unable to run a full disk check. i think i should take it to get repaired instead.

Hey guys, thanks for the help! I did a system restore but it went back to the failure configuring but I've left it overnight charging and it changed to 'cleaning'. Now I'm finally back on and all my files are just fine. Cheers!
