I don't know if this thread belongs here sorry if not :(
I have two issues with Windows 7 font previewing:

One of them is the icon that shows "Abg", in some fonts I've installed it shows "Σ√≠" despite the font being normal text and shows OK when opened or used....

The other is the window preview which doesn't have a horizontal scroll so the text is cutoff in bigger sizes.

Thanks

The first one occurs to everybody... it is not necessary an issue but I don't know if it is possible to fix... The only thing I know is that happens to everyone on certain downloaded fonts.

Thanks, if you have a fairly large font collection, those symbols are bad to preview a font without opening one for one, instead of the Abg but I can survive with that :)

I hope, however, that Microsoft fixes that.

Sorry for necroposting, but I've just found a solution to this. Windows previewed my font as "@af" instead of "Abg". I opened my font in FontForge, went to Element → Font Info... → OS/2 → Panose tab and set Serifs to "Any". I don't know if that fixes "Σ√≠" too, but playing with the dropdown menus in the Panose tab probably will.
