Good idea. MS seems to be trying to make up for Vista.

um, this isnt much of a change from the way they did the RC with vista. Also you can use the full RTM for 90days (extendable to 120days) by installing without entering a product key. (Just like vista and server 2008)

The lengthy RC availability means that people will be able to try out a full version of Windows 7 well beyond its production version release date, but Microsoft's launch has not been delayed, insists Painell.
"Our official line is that [the production version] will be available no later than January 2010 and we will stick to that, but people will still be able to use the release candidate for nothing until June 2010."

I expect Win7 to go Gold September or earlier, to hit the holiday shopping season for PCs.

Free til June 2010 makes one wonder what goodies will be in the RTM that aren't in the RC that would make us want to spend our money to switch. Perhaps the rumors of secret features thus far not announced might hold some truth.

can someone post any differences between "Official RC" and the DECENT Torrent one's we D/L'ed last week. Such as Hashes, watermarks etc etc.
