Windows 7 freeze 3min after sleep

Basically my computer is freezing for 3min after i wake it from sleep like i can still move the mouse but as soon as I click a application to start it hangs for 3minutes or so...
This isn't really a bothersome problem but i would like to get it fixed....

Try using this command to find the problem
powercfg -ENERGY

In search type cmd do not hit enter

right click run as administrator

In cmd type your commands.

Let us know what happens .

Ok I tried what you said and it came up with this in the cmd:

So i went to that document and copied and pasted it into a word document so you could have a look because i don't know what i am looking at or looking for exactly so be easier for you to have a look. thanks for help keep it coming

I read the report, very exciting, maybe they will make a movie.
But in any event, in my opinion the important portion refers to the cpu. There seems to be some process that draws a substantial amout of resources; specifically mentioned is firefox.
This has to be a trial and error process, but I would try useing, IE, lets see what happens. If you still have the problem use IE during a clean boot and lets see the results.

I would also go to control panel>power options and change it to high performance.

so what am should i do? I'm sorta confused by your post.... Do I stop using firefox because it is potentially the cause of the freeze up problem or what do I do with clean boot? sorry

I would do all three things that I mentioned
Clean boot
Change performace settings
and IE

Try just IE at first, if it works, thats the answer
if it does not work
Change performance from control panel
If that works, thats the answer
If it does not work
Try the clean boot, if that works
slowly put the start up items back, When it no longer works that is the problem start up item.
Just permanently keep that program off of start up.

what do you mean when you say try IEi know its internet explorer and i can open it up but should i uninstall then try the sleep thing?

Dont have to uninstall, go to search type default, and then, in default, make IE the default browser. Then when you go online, you automatically use IE and not Firefox.

well i tried all three of your solutions and this is what happened:
1. Make IE your Default Browser - Did that and that did absolutely nothing I set it as default browser then put my computer to sleep and upon waking it up it froze for about 3 minutes when i tried to start a application.
2. Change Power Setting - Once again changed the power setting to high performance then put my computer to sleep and re-woke and came up with basically the same thing however a little bit different i could bring up the application window but after that it would freeze for about 3 minutes.
3.Do Clean Boot - Ok typed run and went to msconfig and unchecked all startup items, restarted then put the computer to sleep and came up with exactly the same problem...
So they all didnt help could you give more some more advice please be greatly appreciated

Try in safe mode.

Good point, do it this way instead. Its almost the same but with drivers.

i dont think clean boot is the solution because i tried all of the options in that link and it still froze for about 3min after sleep... so if anyone got something else i could try i would like that i want to figure this problem out

Sounds like it might be a graphics card issue.
Go to device manager, look for any yellow warning markers, also update your graphics driver.

and

type this in an elevated command prompt to find potential problems
powercfg -lastwake

Sorry for the late post but heres what it came up with after i typed that command in after a wake up

Did you go to device manager and update graphics driver and look for yellow problem markers as above?

there is no yellow exclamation marks anywhere in device manager..
