Hello,

Yesterday was the first time i experienced this, and thought maybe it was just a random error or something just wasnt written somewhere or something....

you know- stuff happens, even with computers lol

Then, today i get home and turn the pc on and samething-

*immediately after typing my password, im greeted with a busy icon next to my mouse and then its freezes*

nothing has changed one the pc recently hardware wise, and i cant think of any startup programs recently added that would cause this.....

couldnt really find anything in the eventviewer aside the power being turned off obviously from me resetting it- though maybe i dont know what to look for.

ok, well i started looking and maybe this is the culprit....

i recently rolled back my sound driver (onboard *realtek HD) because my externals stopped working after a recent update- and realized that it completely deleted the realtek driver from the control panel and device manager-however the speakers work.

looking in tuneup utilites under startup programs, it has an entry for realtek as enabled... O.o

disable it?

*BTW it seems to only freeze after being off for prolong periods of time, not after a reset or restart.

Windows 7 Home Premium x64

thanx

Does it stay frozen forever, or is it just hung and comes back after some time waiting?

What did you run from Tune Up Utilties? Win7 doesn't need any of those optimizing suites used in XP and early Vista, as it is a perfectly balanced OS. Nothing will ruin it faster than a registry cleaner or optimizing suite of tweaking tools.

You can work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 but what I'd do instead is invest now in do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 sticking with the tools and methods recommended to get and keep a perfect install.
