Windows 7 Freezing - ongoing problem

I've had this problem ongoing for a couple months now and have tried everything to resolve it. Ive had 2 previous threads(last one here http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/111787-windows-7-freezes.html#post962810) that have got me no success despite following all the advice offered. Really not sure where to turn next - i'll give a brief summary of the problem and solutions ive tried below.

Basically, Windows 7 started freezing for no apparant reason a few months back. The computer was still under warranty so i got the tech guys out from the store i bought it from who advised me the graphics card was being stressed by me running 2 monitors and was overheating. I went out and upgraded the graphics card - problem was still there. At the same time i had a thread going here which suggested i checked the PSU which i did (along with numerous other tests, etc before i got to this stage). It transpired that it was quite underpowered so i upgraded it thinking that would fix the problem - no such luck... At this point im getting pretty frustrated as you can imagine as i rely on the pc for income and it keeps freezing totally at random meaning i lose work, time and money.

I rang up the tech guys again, explained the issues and they then kindly informed me they couldnt help me as i'd invalidated my warranty by replacing the psu and graphics card!

Came back here and decided to bite the bullet and reluctantly just do a complete reboot to fix it once and for all seeing as i couldnt get help elsewhere.
I did this a couple days ago, spent hours reinstalling and setting up my software for work, internet, favoutires etc which took hours and was thinking problem solved. But no... Once again its just frozen again with no reason.

It doesnt appear to overheating, no evidence of a reason behind it that i can see from any of the tests ive done etc. Not really sure what to do now. Cant really afford to go out and buy a new pc but cant survive with it freezing all the time at random.

Suggestions of what the issue could be or where to turn next would be much appreciated!

Sorry to hear that you are still having problems.

Problem remaining after re-install means that it is a ~99% chance of a hardware problem.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html (yes, you have run this before - but it may pay to run it again if the other tests come back clean)

If all the above doesn't work try testing your hard drive.

First run chkdsk

START -> type cmd.exe -> Right-click -> run as admin -> type chkdsk /r /f -> Press Y at prompt -> restart computer.

Also to check the drive's physical state run SeaTools

Download SeaTools for DOS from here: SeaTools | Seagate

Follow the instructions to run it. After it has detected the drive, select Basic Tests, then Long Test and let it run.

I will work my way through those over the next couple of days then post once they've all run through or i find an error.
Perhaps a dull question but is it possible to run any of them similtaneously to save time or shall i just do them all seperately?

So - you run a few at once and you get a Freeze/BSOD (ie; a fail). How do you know which one of the several tests caused it?

Best to run seperately. The Furmark one especially shouldn't take too long.

I thought this would be the case but thought no harm in asking if it sped the process up

Sadly, Still clueless to the problem.

I ran Prime95 on Blend overnight for 10 hours which came up with no errors.
Ran the Small FFT test all day then for another 10 hours - no errors.

Ran Furmark for 20 mins. Min temp - 46C Max temp - 71C but it stayed largely around 69/70C under stress for most the test.

Ran mem test again as advised for 10 passes. All came back clean with no errors.

Ran CHKDSK which came back clean

and finally created the Sea Tools boot disc, ran it for both the short (accidentally) and long test and it reported no errors.

Any other ideas of where turn next?

Remember that hardware tests are not 100% accurate.

If I were you I would take the system into a local PC repair store and get them to bench test it and try replacing any parts that you already haven't replaced.

Sorry, but it's the only way at this stage.
