Windows 7 frequent BSOD

Hey guys, first time posting here, I have been having a problem ever since I installed Windows 7 on my computer. It has been blue screening at least once a week. Usually it happens after my computer has either came out of sleep mode or has been idel for a long period of time. After the reboot, all my saved login/passwords for websites are cleared out (cookies).

Here is some info on my system:

- Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
- system originally had Windows Vista 32bit installed
- Full Retail version of Windows 7
- computer is about 2 years old
- windows 7 was installed earlier this year, maybe around july and I have not reinstalled it.

- computer is a Toshiba Satellite L355D - S7825 Laptop.
- AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz
- 3 GB of RAM


I have tried doing some troublshooting on this issue myself but keep hitting dead ends. I have checked all the hardware drivers and let windows 7 select the best one. I have downloaded the recommended and required windows 7 utilities from the toshiba website. Windows is all up to date. I have ran check disks and memory tests which come back fine.

I used BlueScreenView to check out the dump files, all my BSODs are BAD_POOL_HEADER with the bug check code of 0x00000019.

I have attached the required .zip file to this post and can provide more info if needed (dump files, etc.)

These crashes were caused by your AVG, and memory.

I would:
1-run memtest

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.


Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

2-Remove AVG and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials

Thanks, I actually read something about AVG possibly causing problems right after posting this. I have removed it and installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

I forgot to mention that this issue did not start untill after I installed Windows 7. I never got a BSOD on Vista. Also, when I bought this laptop I got 2 (one for me and one for my sister.) When I upgraded mine to Windows 7 I did a fresh install and when I upgraded her I just did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. She also is getting BSODs the same way I am and only after the upgrade.

I will try the memory test aswell and report back if I have anymore issues.
