Another few more results for Windows 7 Home Premium x64
(AMD Phenom X4 9600 - nVidia 9800 GT - Realtek HD Audio)
Working perfectly (no compatibility modes used):
Age of Mythology
American McGee's Alice
Descent 3
OutRun 2006: Coast2Coast
Prey
Working with issues:
Disney's Aladdin (Windows 95 version)
- Installer is 16-bit, so wont install. Copying all files to hard drive, the game works when set to compatibility mode Windows 95 and 256 color mode. Seems to play at a somewhat inconsistent speed.
Grim Fandango
- Original installer is 16-bit, so wont work. There's an unofficial installer/laucher available at
Grim Fandango Setup | Quick And Easy Software - With that it installs and plays, but trying to turn on 3D acceleration crashes the game, so software rendering only.
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (SoldOut range DVD re-release)
- The SoldOut version removes the problematic StarForce copy-protection, so the game works fine, except Joystick (Wheel) calibration doesn't seem to work correctly (Y-axis/Gas pedal isn't read correctly on my SideWinder, I also have the same problem on CMR04). The original retail version probably takes more effort to get working, because of the StarForce nonsense.
Heretic II
- Requires the Quake2/RtCW -fix (
Fixes for RtCW Single player and Quake II (OpenGL):) on nVidia card.
Sega Rally Championship (1997)
- Screen occasionally and randomly flashes white during gameplay. A bit annoying, but still very playable.
Note: My copy from "Empire Race Collection" says it's version 2.11. The only official patch for the original release I can find is version 2.1. I don't know if there's any practical difference thou.
Not Working:
Disney's The Lion King
and
Disney's The Jungle Book (Windows 95 versions)
- 16-bit installers, so won't install. Copying all files to hard drive, trying to start games (in 256 color mode) stops with error "Can't Find EPFS file".
All games installed from Retail DVDs/CDs.
