Solved Windows 7 hangs whenever I open a program.

Recently, i opened my laptop and as usual opened a program. But when the program opened i cant seem to open other programs or load a website in my browser. Then openedd programs are still clickable and mouse is responding. I tried refreshing the desktop but it takes a long time, during this time Alt+Ctrl+Del wont open, it becomes black and displays a message that it cant start Alt+ctrl+del.

I recently removed a virus called, proxifier.exe, used Malwarebytes, Ccleaner, Avast. Even though after removing the virus, problem still persist. Saw some event:7001 and 10005. did Disk Check and Sfc /scan.

Ty for the warm welcome and reply. But I learned that the virus has corrupted some of the registry files and I think system files too. Tried so many options, default Bios, clean start, diskcheck, scans etc. But now i will be marking this as Solved. FIX it by doing good ol' Clean Re-install of Windows 7. turns out i had no important files in my System Partition C:.

As of now its working very fine no signs of anything. Yeah, read some other threads it takes like weeks tracking down dumps, hijackthis files. And its a Laptop hard to do things involving Hardware.

Backup HDD Image

Remember to create a backup HDD image of your new install.
It's much quicker to restore an image, than it is to reinstall everything.
