Great stuff -- BUT I think there's still a flaw with this test. True Windows 7 seems to exploit the SSD faster but remember the actual low level "Physical I/O" is actually handled by windows performing BIOS calls to write / read the data. The Bios will probably treat the SSD device as a "classical disk" which the hardware driver will handle.

Unless your Bios has been re-written so it can handle SSD devices to their full potential the results of your test are only an indication of future improvements we can expect as the technology matures.

I'm really sure that SSD's will deliver AT LEAST a 2 - 4 times improvement in disk performance really soon and since poor disk performance is usually a major bottleneck in nearly every computer (both home and work ones) that I've ever used SSD's used to their full potential should really make things fly.

I don't think performance improvement will come from the BIOS. It will come from SATA3 (6 Gbps). Believe me, actual SSD are really fast, I don't know how they could be 2-4 times faster than they are. Actually, I don't know how I could have a faster computer for daily usage (except that stupid Adobe flash zoomed in Firefox which can take 100% of my 4 cores).

Maybe you should try a small SSD, you will fall in love with them ;)
Note: DON'T BUY JMICRON CONTROLLED SSD!
