Dell is providing me with a laptop with only 1 partition of 500gb with windows 7 home premium 64 bits already installed on it but i need to make partitions in it and their personals are saying that i need to do it myself.
So could anyone guide me what to do so that i could partition my harddrive without having to reformat the os???????

Hi and welcome to Seven forums.
You can use Disk Management to reduce C: partition and create another partition.
Click Start and type
Code:
diskmgmt.msc
to open Disk Management.
Right click on the volume to reduce and after been reduces you can create another partition.
Hope this helps

If you have any problems, post back a screenshot of you full Disk Management drive map and listings with the window maximized, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu.
