Has anyone experienced problems when resuming from hibernate in Windows 7. (Build 7000) It hibernates fine but when resuming from hibernate a blinking cursor in the to left corner goes on forever and the hibernation file has to be deleted to get back into Windows. Any thoughts?

Chris

Had hibernation problems with 7000; not with 7057 now.

Has anyone tested the new hibernation + sleep option?

I can say that I have had issues with hibernate on build 7057. I haven't had a chance to test fully, but it has failed to come out of hibernation. This prompts a restart where I have a choice to delete the file or attempt to continue. I will try to test some more to get better details.

I just wanted to confirm that you are not the only one ;)

since vista i've troubles with resuming. I was pretty pleased when for a few days build 7057 resumed like SnowWhite.

Till this morning  Just sits there burning processorcycles, everything works but the keyboard/mouse are unresponsive.

Must be a bios/motherboard thing.

Using hibernation every day with built 7000 x64. 99% work fine, but sometimes have BSOD on resuming.

The most offen cause of bad resuming of hibernation are the driver... GPU driver, motherboard driver, etc.

Build 7048 hibernates and sleeps very very well.

Last night I was in the middle of watch The Scorpion King and I decided that I was sleepy - I hist the sleep button and presto, it went to sleep.

The good news - I have my Router sending syslog messages to my computer, which I then report to SANS.org via the DShield project - and I have a task scheduler item set to wake the computer every hour to do this. It wakes the computer, sends the email, and goes back to sleep in as little as 5 minutes.

I got a copy of build 7057 (Maybe it wil be RC1 :) and everything works the way it should. I reboot in 50 seconds and everyday tasks and server networking is instantly, something even vista isn't capable of.

Why wait for that long for the computer to go back to sleep? Just use this command

rundll32 powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState

in your task and it will go back to sleep immediately after sending the email. You can toggle the suspend mode from sleep to hibernate (which you don't want) using

powercfg -h off

from an elevated command prompt.
