Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit ordering problem

Hello!

Can anyone please help, I cannot find a solution for this problem.

In Windows Explorer, the .jpg files are not ordered correctly by name descending, see attachment.

The files names are shown ok in Total Commander or in Excel when copied, but not in Windows Explorer.

I've tried to enable Numerical Sorting for All Users but it didn't help.

What could be the source of the problem?

Have you tried clicking on the Name column header to sort by name (click again if in descending order instead of ascending)?

Yes, multiple times and rebooted as well.

Pretty wild naming you have there :/
Is there a particular location with the problem ?

The long file names come from the saved Viber pictures from a Windows Phone 8. And yes, this ordering problem occurs only with these files.

As the file names start with a date code have you tried sorting the list by date to see if they order correctly.
Not as solution for your problem I know but thought it may give you the order you are looking for ?

I would suggest getting rid of the unnecessarily long names and inquire with either the phone manufacture and or Microsoft about the name deal in win-8 phones are creating,
Windows Phone - Microsoft Community
I wouldn't imagine anyone being able to identify a file that had a name such as those.

Shortening the file names actually helped, thanks! But why, I've no idea. I deleted the last 10 characters or so.

Good deal long file names are Yes an issue
It makes little sense to have a names like those,
File properties have all of that stuff/ date taken and even geolocation info unless you turn that feature off because it does show exactly where the file was taking at if one is taken from your house would you want that location shared with everyone ? me no Off.
First thing I usually do is rename files,
Put them into folders identifying what they are for = Summer Vacation 2015...
Then the file would be the place and simple numbering .0001....
I'm a human not a machine so this works better for me
