Solved Windows 7 Install, Display turns off during setup, no VGA signal

This is boggling my mind and I can't seem to find many solutions to it. I'm working on a Toshiba Tecra A11 w/Nvidia NVS dedicated graphics, new SSD and 8 gb RAM.

Laptop and screen power on and I can enter BIOS, Ram+HD detected
I start Windows 7 install from USB drive, it does the loading files bar, then starting windows for about 3 seconds and the display turns off completely. Setup is still running in the background.

So far I have tried changing the BIOS from IDE to AHCI, no fix. Reset to defaults. Set Monitor output settings to Laptop LCD only also.
1 Ram stick at a time, and swapped with another working stick, still black.
Different working hard drive, same thing.
Install from DVD same error.
VGA monitor hooked up produces "No Signal" when it happens.

I also tried a Windows 8 install and it just boot-loops while the logo is present. Loads to the logo then restarts.

EDIT: So even though the ram was detected in BIOS that was the problem. Tried another lower speed (8500 vs 10600) and the display is working again. Must not like the timings or something?

Were you overclocking the RAM before you'd even installed?

I never overclocked it, just had sets of both speeds available for install. The PC3-10600 was detected but would not load correctly, putting in PC3-8500 worked fine. The service manual and memory sites say 8500, 10600 and 12800 should all work, thats why I was so confused by what it was doing.
