Hello!

I have a problem. When i try to install any version of Windows 7 it can not complete the installation. I burned the iso with Imgburn on 2x speed and verifyed it.

After i have copyed new files, reboot, setup the registery it comes to the Completing installation http://0.tqn.com/d/pcsupport/1/0/j/5/-/-/windows-7-install-16.jpg
First everything looks good but then suddenly the hard disk stops making noice and comes a blackscreen where is only a "_" sign in the up left corner and it flashes.

My system information:
Processor: DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2 2,3ghz
Memory: 4 GB 800 Mhz DDR2
Gcard. Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT (512MB)(I use DVI, but i have a VGA adapter.)
Motherboard: Asus M2N68-LA

While i am installing i have connected in my computer, usb mouse, PS/2 Keyboard, Acer monitor with DVI cable.

Here is a gif from the screen that feezes. http://sekunti.com/upload/img/222744444.gif

Best regards.

Sounds more like a disk problem. If you have an OS on the system, run a chkdsk /f. Else burn the cd of Partition Wizard and make a surface test (under the disk button).

I made the chkdsk /f and to me it didint say anything, it went so fast. Is there somewhere a chkdsk raport?

What exactly did the chkdsk say. Somewhere it should say "0 KB in bad sectors" - then you are OK.

Yep. 0 KB in bad sectors.
So 1 possible reason eliminated. What next?

This commonly happens when it is loading the video card driver which kicks in but is outputted incorrectly to another monitor, projector, etc. Up until that point in install it is using standard VGA driver. If you can default to onboard video for install it may solve the issue, or else resolve incorrect output from video card as it starts up.

Once you've eliminated that as possibility, Remove all but 2gb RAM to try install, test RAM using memtest86 disk for 5-6 passes.

Test your HD using maker's full diag/repair CD scan: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

Update BIOS to latest version from Support Downloads webpage for your computer or mobo.

If no newer, clear the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Now check the SATA controller setting in BIOS: try AHCI first, then IDE if necc.

Try also cleaning the HD of all code to try install: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html

Try install from USB stick: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/31541-windows-7-usb-dvd-download-tool.html?filter[2]=General%20Tips

Thanks to all who helped me! You deserve a medal or something : ).
I got all working. I reseted the BIOS, taking it off for 10sec. Took 1 of my memorycomps off. After the installation went to the first restart i took usbmouse off and left only powercable, PS2 keyboard and DVI cable. I did a clean install and everything works great now.

One more time, thank you!
