Dear all,

I've been struggling already for 2 weeks or so to get this new machine installed.
But now finally after buying a new harddrive things are going better but still not to the point where the OS is installed good.

My problem is the following:
I have a 320GB SATA drive, 4GB RAM DDR3 and a ASUS M4N68T-M motherboard, and a AM3 AMD ATHLON II X3 435 BOX 3x2,9 processor.

Just installed windows 7 32bit, and it works fine until the point where it needs to finalize the installation, then it reboots the computer and then it gives a BSOD with the message driver irql not less or equal.

I don't know what to do now, I've read that it might have something to do with drivers but I cannot install drivers since I can't get into windows and if you would like the dump files then please tell me how I can get them while I can not get into windows.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Damn I never had so much trouble installing a new system.
I now fixed it, and I first turned off "cool & quiet" on the motherboard in the BIOS, and then I got a error can't recall which that one was because I'm really working long on the pc now (for 6 hours straight) and then I found on this forum to take out 2GB ram instead of installing with 4GB in there, and now it worked perfectly
Just installed the mobo drivers etc.

Thanks a lot and I hope people will learn from this.
It was a 32bit windows 7 install cd and I succesfully installed with 2GB instead of the 4GB!

Please could you let me know... Did you ever get back to using 4gb of memory?

Does this problem also occur with 64bit?

Bling35,

This has been a very common install problem. After win7 installs & is running fairly normally, then you can add the additional memory & it usually runs just fine.

Hello eigrahm, welcome to Seven Forums!

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.
