Windows 7 Installation.. Task manager shows program but not on screen?

Is this a normal W7 error? I want to install League Of Legends but after I pressed yes to Administrator permissions to the program, then there is nothing, apart from Task manager says it is running, but I can not see anything on the desktop? I cant stop the program in task manager, which I think is a little weird? Please help..
Theres more games and applications which does the same really annoying

Hi there, I've had this problem with several applications, often old ones. I've found that a reboot normally fixes it, I've never found a explanation for it though...
