Hi guys

At the moment I running windows 7 ultimate 32 bits on my PC. I would like to switch to 64 bits, and install a new SSD, but when I use the DVD in the drive do and I reboot, it boots from the DVD, loads the files but then just a blank welcome screen appears. I also tried it on another PC, but there it does start normally and I get a welcome screen with the first step (choosing a country, etc.).
It can't be a stuck DVD-drive, it plays other DVDs without problems.

I have a Asus P5Q SE Plus Motherboard, Intel Celeron E3200 CPU, 6 GB RAM (that's why I want to switch to 64 bits).

I really hope someone could help me, cause I don't know what the problem is.

Tnx!

Hi,

Is there a chance your DVD drive might be faulty, or just have trouble reading that disk? Take it out of the equation : download the required Windows 7 ISO, and then make it bootable using the Windows 7 USB DVD Installer, and then try install from that by booting from the USB.

ISO Downloads:
Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life

Installer:
Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool Creates and Makes Bootable DVD Disc or USB Flash/Hard Drive from ISO Image « My Digital Life

Golden

@Golden: I already tried, but then the same problem occurs: it loads the files but then just a blanco blue welcome-screen appears :S .. really don't know what to do.

I also tried to run the setup from windows. The installation will start then, but stucks at 6% of unpacking files.
