Hey everyone,

So I'm building a new machine and am hoping to install Windows 7 on it. As a student of a large university in the US and an upcoming Information Technology major, I am granted access to Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA). This contains license keys a downloads direct from Microsoft for free. The only disc delivery option they offer on the site is an Update disc and it's $24 so I obviously don't want to do that. I've used the download option and now have the large ISO and am hoping to put it onto a disc where I can install it to my new machine when I have completed building it. I know there is software out there to use but are there any suggestions of some Freeware I can use to accomplish this? Anyone else have any other suggestions or comments for me? I appreciate the help in advance!

You want to burn the iso to disk? Use Imgburn.

The Official ImgBurn Website

Burn at the lowest speed possible and use decent quality media.

Hey guys,

The burn worked perfectly; I've got my disc ready and I'll check back when I finish building my machine to say whether it worked or didn't work! Thank you kindly

hasn't win 7 got it's own built-in iso burner - windows disc image burner aka isoburn.exe?

anyway, welcome to sevenforums ej00262.

you can also stick the iso onto a 4 gig flash drive if you want to get geeky - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html.

I've heard about booting from Flash drives.. I'll very likely do that as a backup to the disc I've made. It's just nice to have the disc + license key in my notebook of discs for the times when problems arise :)
