Windows 7 issues after downgrade from Windows 8

Hello

I recently downgraded from Windows 8. I installed Windows 7 successfully, albeit a few errors coming up, but I dont quite remember what they said. Anyhow, the OS seemed to work fine until I started downloading stuff on it. Nothing with viruses, just stuff like Google Chrome and Skype.

Even after cleaning the tower, however, my PC still blue screened after startup, and sometimes it is unresponsive. It has even glitched once to the point where I had to restart the PC manually.

Please help! This is a new OS and Im not sure what to do.

Hi:

AFAIK, It's not routinely possible to downgrade from 8/8.1 to 7 on a home PC without a proper, "genuine" copy of Win7.
(A notable exception would be an Enterprise system that was purchased with downgrade rights.)

I'm sure additional information will be needed, but, for starters...

It would help to know more about the system and where/how you obtained your Win7 license.
And:
Was Windows 8 properly activated?
Was Windows 7 properly activated?

Thanks,
MM

The Windows 7 was obtained off of Amazon, brand new. I installed it with a genuine disc of Windows 7
Windows 8 was not activated, but Windows 7 was. I got a notification saying it wasn't, but I am CERTAIN the code I put in was unused, and it didn't tell me this until many days after I already activated it.

Hi:

Alas, having purchased from Amazon, "brand new", and there having been a delay before getting a "not genuine" message are not a guarantee of authenticity.
The crooks are pretty good these days at selling cracked/illegal products and making them look real.

You may have been the victim of a scam.
So, for starters, I suggest that you first please follow the steps here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...ne-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Then, please post the resulting log in your next reply.
We'll go from there.

Thanks,

MM

Hi LionMoth
The install is counterfiet, on more than one level.

the key was lifted from a W7 computer.
The installation discs includes an activation exploit to bypass WAT, and has now failed.
(*You would have had to change the Bios to install)

Your original W8 system would have self validated/activated, no user input required,
As you have performed a clean install, see*, its possible that you have wiped your Genuine W8 key, held in the Bios..
Try using Showkeyplus to retrieve it, i dont hold out a lot of hope.

Amazon is fine but NOT the marketplace.

Suggest you contact the seller and try and get your money back.

Roy
