windows 7 issues

I have joined the board and have made one post, coming from Linux to Windows, I realize there is much to learn. I am surprised that any reply to my post takes so long. Perhaps this community is not as large as the one I came from, or perhaps it is just me needing an answer quickly. I guess for now I need to stay with Linux until I upgrade my hardware. Thanks for the one reply to my post.

Here is the previous post that he is referring to. It is all of two hours old, and considering the time of the day in which he posted, it is not surprising that he hasn't gotten more replies...but then I have noted that Linux users tend to be far more impatient than Windows users, although when I have posted questions on Linux forums, I usually didn't get all that fast of a response either. In a sense, this is just a different form of double posting.

There is no mention of what make and model dvd drive he is trying to install from, from the looks of his spec's it looks fairly old.

Thanks to all who replied. I never re-posted the other concern, someone else has. My machine is somewhat old, I admit and I knew that I left out that info. I didn't realize that some members think my posting time is early. I too post a bit on an ubuntu forum and usually receive an answer in less than 15 minutes. (world wide web pun there, no disrespect meant)
