Windows 7 Java Problem

This is a bit of a weird problem with windows 7/Java

I am running 64bit windows 7 home premium, and as such have 64bit Java installed on my computer and i've come to realize that if i'm running java .jar files from the command line, the 64bit version of java is invoked, but if i just double click the jar file, then 32bit java is invoked.

im not sure if this is the correct place for this question, but like i said its a weird problem.


does anyone have a clue why this happens?

I don't know if this is the exact answer you were looking for, but you need to install both versions of Java (32-bit & 64-bit) if you are using a 64-bit system. And your system will utilize the appropriate Java version for whatever app is running, or whatever function it is doing - whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Did you define the JDK in the Path or are you using de default java.exe located in system32.
