Hi,

My Windows 7 Home Premium on a Lenovo B540 Desktop can't seem to load past the login screen (like literally the screen with the user accounts).

When i click on any of my 5 user accounts on the login screen, the screen is left with the background image of the login screen, then after a couple of seconds jumps back to the login screen with the 5 accounts again. I don't even progress to be able to type in my password as the password prompt doesn't appear at all.

Hope to be able to resolve it ASAP, there's impt data inside ><

Thank you!!

Hi and welcome to the Forum
I haven't got an immediate answer to your problem but as you have important data on the machine I suggest you use another mahine and download Ubuntu from here:
Download Ubuntu Desktop | Download | Ubuntu
You can then run this from a CD and choose the trial version which will run frm the CD without installing on your hard drive. This will give you access to your data files and allow you to back tham up before you tackle the main problem. If you then have to reinstall Windows at least your data will be safe.

Hi hengws have you recently installed any new windows updates?
The update below has been causing a lot of logon issues, although it has now been reissued and should be fixed.
If you think it could be this causing the issue you'll need to boot into the Recovery Environment by tapping F8 after the PC BIOS boot up screen and use system restore to before the update was installed. I recommend you disconnect your Internet if you have Windows Update set to Automatic or the update may install again.
If we can get you signed on to your PC , I would then suggest you change your Windows update settings to "check for updates but let me choose when to download".
