windows 7 keeps freezing

hi all.. i installed windows 7 ultimate yesturday,

but since then it randomly freezes..

and the only thing i can do is to use the power button to turn it of and on again..

my specs are if it helps..

intel core 2 cpu [email protected]
ram: 2.00gb

32 bit operating system.

Hi Dixon

Next time it happens type eventvwr in search. got to the windows log>application tab. You need to look for errors (they have red in the left hand column) that say app hang, app crash, or anything relevant to the problem.

When you find them and there will be many. use the built in snipping tool (type snipping n search) to make a screen shot and upload it to us using the attachment icon (its shaped like a paperclip) see pics

dixon,how many ram slots do u have?if there are 2,try to inverse them in slots.i did this and it looks like it's working now

Uninstall your antivirus.

There is only like a million reasons for random freezing. I tend to look at the bios settings or memory adjustments for such problems but it can be so many things.

hi, it has only done this since i installed windows 7..

it did it before i installed norton so that cant be the prob... i have just swapped the memorys over as requested - will see if that helps.

gave it a clean now the fan is constantly on.. the joys lol

On a hunch, I'd still uninstall Norton to test.

I don't trust any of those anti virus's either, there are just too many problems associated with them lately.

freeze ups

im getting the same thing happening on a fresh install and all my errors have to do with adobe products im gonna see if they have updates to see if that fixes the problem and change my msconfig from loading them ill let you know if it works want to test it for a day or too most probs take that long to see if the fix works.
