Hello. I'm new to the forums :o

Since couple of weeks ago my computer started shutting down unexpectedly which it was OK with me since it wasn't doing it often and I was able to use my computer... My issue now is that now my PC is restarting itself, sometime it lets me get to the desktop but now its just restarting when it get to the "starting windows" screen. I was able to get into the PC today again and it gave me time to go into windows and grab the "minidump" file. Please help me figure out whats causing my PC to restart in a loop. :cry:
THANK YOU in advance.

Hello Ocir :) Thank You for replying :)

When I try doing a start up repair it goes black and restarts.
no blue screen or anything to identify the error...
I tried going into system properties "start-up and recovery settings"
and I unchecked "automatically restart" on system failure, but that didn't work...
Any ideas ?

Yes, but it restarts in the middle of it... I don't know what else to do... I also tried removing 1 memory stick and checking the fans inside and the computer temperature and everything seems to be in order... The fans are working good...

Since I have no idea of your netiquette behavior and the sites you visit, I am simply going with the first thing I would suspect, which would be a virus.

To test for and clean an infection, visit the following site and follow the instructions;

Thank You for replying Sir George :)
The computer that I'm having the problem with is not connected to the internet but, it can be a virus since I'm always transporting files in between my computers... I will try this. I'll let you know if it worked after I try it. Thank You again.

I have 26 Windows 7 64 bit, Dell Latitude 64 bit machines here in the office. 10 of these have exhibited the same symptoms starting on 10/1/12. Start the machine, it goes to Dell splash screen then to Windows splash and then goes black and restarts the cycle. On occasion, a blue screen has shown that says Pages are Locked but after it's dump, it restarts.
To alleviate our issue, we restarted in safe mode and restored back to 9/27/2012. An issue with windows updates maybe??

Hello HenryA, I did a system restore back to 8/31/12 and now I can at least get into the PC every time I turn it on...Now my problem is that the PC goes into "sleep mode" after a certain time using it. I tried doing a rescue CD with Avira and also I tried using my Windows 7 CD to do a start-up repair but every time I put the CD inside the "CD-ROM" the computer automatically restarts when it gets to the "Windows Starting" Screen or, if I put the CD in the "CD-ROM" after I'm inside "At the desktop" the monitor shuts off and my PC goes into "Sleep Mode". Funny, but I never have encounter a problem like this before... If anybody has any ideas, please let me know!!! Hope for you to find a solution to your problem HENRYA :D
